Cabela’s puts web and catalog channels under a new chief marketer

The retailer has promoted senior vice president of merchandising and marketing Patrick Snyder to chief marketing officer. One of six senior executives promoted last week, he will be responsible for both catalog and web operations.

RealNetworks’ CEO exits

Rob Glaser, founder and CEO of RealNetworks, resigned from his post yesterday. The company’s board of directors appointed Robert Kimball, general counsel and executive vice president of corporate development, to serve as president and acting CEO.

Borders has brought in former Barnes & Noble executive Ron Marshall to serve as president and CEO, succeeding George Jones. It also reports that overall holiday sales fell 11.7%, as the new Borders.com compiled $20.3 million in sales.
