Christmas becomes an online bargain day for some U.K. consumers
On Dec. 25, 3.8 million shoppers spent £102 million (US$151 million) online, reports e-commerce trade association Interactive Media in Retail Group. While the number of shoppers was down 14% from 2007, transaction volume was up and consumers spent more.

U.K. holiday online sales grow 20% over year ago, trade group reports
Online retail sales in the U.K. for November and December were up 20% over the year before, with consumers spending more than £3 billion, reports the trade association Interactive Media in Retail Group. Half the U.K. population shopped online.
