IDC predicts the resurrection of the PC market
IDC projects this year’s total growth in PC sales will reach 11.4%. Shipments will be 8.8% higher than 2000, the previous highest year. Next year, shipments will grow 11.4%.

Slow worldwide growth, but strong US growth for PCs in 2002, IDC reports
Worldwide PC shipments in 2002 grew 1.4% from 2001, IDC reports, while US PC sales grew 8.3% last year. Growth this year will be 6.9% worldwide and 12% in the US, IDC predicts.

PC market hits unexpected slowdown, IDC reports
Total worldwide PC shipments are now expected to reach 135.5 million in 2002 on growth of 1.1%, with growth of 8.4% projected for 2003, IDC reports. The numbers were reduced from the June forecast for growth of 4.7% in 2002 and 11.1% in 2003.

Worldwide PC sales will drop 10% this year, says new research from IDC
IDC says it expects consumer PC shipments to decline 9.6% worldwide in 2001 versus a previous forecast of a 0.2% decline. IDC said falling consumer PC shipments in the United States and Japan were a major factor in the adjustment.
