The web played a big role in Q1 sales growth at The Children’s Place
U.S. online sales grew 42%, or $8.4 million, in the first quarter, accounting for nearly all of the U.S. net sales increase of $8.8 million for retail chain The Children’s Place. E-commerce sales increased to 7% of total sales from 5% a year earlier.

Internet sales for the first quarter of 2008 at dELiA’s were $32.9 million, up by 15% compared with $28.6 million in the prior year quarter. Web sales were in a virtual dead heat with the retail store sales, which rose by 16%.
