Napster looks to growth from mobile commerce as web sales slip
Online music retailer Napster reported $30.3 million in revenue for Q1, a 6% decline from the same quarter a year ago. The company is pinning its hopes for a rebound on sales to mobile phone users and digital downloads from its e-commerce site.

Napster cuts its loss in the second quarter
Online music subscription service Napster Inc. posted higher revenue and a lower loss in the second quarter of fiscal 2008. For the quarter Napster’s net loss dropped by 43.3% while revenue increased by 23.9%.

Napster Inc. reported a record $28.4 million in net revenue for the third quarter of fiscal 2007, up 21% from $23.5 million in the same quarter of fiscal 2006. Subscriber growth and the launch of Napster Japan contributed to the gains, the company says.

Revenue at digital music download retailer Napster Inc. grew 34% in the first quarter of its 2007 fiscal year, reaching a record $28.1 million from $20.9 million a year earlier, the company reports. Sales were up 5% from the preceding quarter.
