Gander Mountain names a new top marketing executive

Senior vice president of marketing Steven Uline will coordinate the marketing for all channels, including e-commerce. Gander Mountain also hired Michael Owens, a former Anheuser-Busch executive, as executive vice president and chief operating officer.

A change at the summit of multi-channel retailer Gander Mountain

Mark R. Baker has stepped down as president and CEO of the outdoors gear and apparel retailer to take a position at Scotts Miracle-Gro. David C. Pratt, chairman of Gander Mountain’s board, will be interim CEO while the company looks for a replacement.

In a move to expand its web and catalog channels, outdoor gear retailer Gander Mountain Co. is acquiring Overton’s Inc. Gander Mountain will pay approximately $70 million in cash for the company.
