Scholastic wants to throw the book at premature Harry Potter distributors
In a lawsuit filed on Wednesday in Chicago in the Circuit Court of Cook County, Scholastic is suing Infinity Resources Inc., which operates DeepDiscount.com, and Levy Home Entertainment LLC for violating the book’s embargo agreement.

Harry Potter sets a record at Amazon with 1.5 million pre-orders
Amazon.com accepted 1.5 million pre-orders for the new Harry Potter book by midnight Friday, making it the largest new product release in Amazon history. Barnes & Noble sold 1.3 million copies in the first 48 hours at its stores and on its web site.

Amazon and BarnesandNoble.com soak up the demand for new Harry Potter book
Amazon reports that worldwide, it has received 875,000 orders for the forthcoming “Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix.” BarnesandNoble.com says it has received several hundred thousand orders.
