Videomoviehouse.com becomes the latest competitor in online DVD rentals

Videomoviehouse.com Inc., which has been selling movies online since June 2001, is moving into the DVD rental business, going head-to-head with market leader Netflix and Blockbuster. Subscriptions will be available to U.S. and Canadian customers.

Netflix reports 79% year-to-year rise in number of subscribers

Netflix.com, which offers online DVD rentals, says its number of subscribers reached nearly 1.3 million in the third quarter, up 79% from a year ago. This week it launched a Cleveland distribution center to expand next-day delivery service.
