Amazon’s Q3 net income shoots up 321%
Amazon.com just keeps pushing ahead. Amazon’s Q3 sales grew year over year by 41% to $3.26 billion from $2.31 billion while net income jumped to $80 million from $19 million.

Harry Potter helped Amazon.com record a solid second quarter financial performance with net income rising by 255% and net sales up by 35%. Amazon received advance orders for more than 2.2 million copies of “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.”

Amazon.com sells more than 4 million items on peak holiday shopping day
Amazon.com Inc. sold more than 4 million items on Dec. 11, the busiest shopping day of its best ever shopping season, the retailer says. On that day, Amazon’s worldwide fulfillment network shipped more than 3.4 million units.

Amazon programs will allow customers to buy online access to books
Amazon.com is developing two programs that will enable customers to purchase online access to any page, section, or chapter of a book, or an entire book. The programs will build on Amazon’s two-year-old Search Inside the Book technology.
