James P. Fogarty will be president, CEO and chairman of the board of the chain, operator of such retail stores and web brands as Lane Bryant and Fashion Bug that sell apparel for larger women. He has spent 15 years with advisory firm Alvarez & Marsal.

Annual web sales rise 14% at Charming Shoppes as total sales slip

For the year ended Jan. 31, web sales at plus size apparel retailer Charming Shoppes Inc. rose 14% to $156.4 million, up $19.4 million from $137 million a year earlier, the company says.
