NBTY reports e-commerce sales down 1% for fiscal year 2007
Nutritional supplements maker and marketer NBTY reported net sales from consumer-direct operations for FY 2007 were down $2 million, or 1% year over year. The sales dip reflects price reductions to gain market share, the company says.

Q2 web sales drop at NBTY
E-commerce sales for NBTY Inc. dropped by 13.9% in the second quarter, while total sales rose 5.4%. The company says the close of a successful promotion accounted for the drop in direct marketing sales for its direct response/Puritan’s Pride operation.

NBTY posted e-commerce sales of $17.8 million vs. web sales of $14.4 million in Q4 2005. Total Q4 revenue rose 8% to $468 million.

Total sales flat but online sales up for NBTY Inc.
While 2005 total sales realized only a 3% increase over 2004, 2005 online sales bounced 33%. NBTY blames a stagnant market for nutritional supplements and other factors for slower overall sales.
