Diversified Internet company United Online to acquire web florist FTD

United Online, whose holdings include Internet service providers Juno and NetZero, will pay $806 million in stock, cash and assumption of debt. The two companies share a similar customer base and expect to cross-sell their services, United Online says.

Kmart Corp. announced that United Online Inc. has agreed to pay $8.4 million for Kmart’s BlueLight Internet access service. The sale is subject to federal bankruptcy court approval.

Kmart drops the banners on its ISP, adds local access numbers

Kmart is removing the banner ads from its BlueLght Internet service. Instead of banner ads, customers logging on to the Internet through the BlueLight ISP will get a task bar linking them to e-mail and to BlueLight.com.
