Home Depot Direct president Harvey Seegers resigns

Harvey F. Seegers, president of Home Depot Direct since 2005, resigned Monday. Home Depot’s Internet and catalog business will be integrated with merchandising, headed by Craig Menear, senior vice president.

An increase in visits to the top 10 home and garden sites in August

Eight of the top 10 home and garden sites experienced an increase in visits in August, reports Nielsen/NetRatings. Tide.com led the group with a 155% increase in traffic to 1.9 million from 745,000 a year earlier.

Eight of the top 10 online home and garden sites experienced double-digit growth in visits in June, according to Nielsen/NetRatings. DIY Network had the largest increase, rising 69% to 3.26 million.

HomeDepot.com adds online ordering to home appliance content

Offline, The Home Depot has become the third-largest seller of home appliances since launching the category in its stores in 2001. Adding online ordering stands to boost its share of that market, already up 40% in Q3 over a year ago.
