Circuit City pulls the plug and files for bankruptcy
Circuit City Stores Inc. joins a growing list of retailers filing for bankruptcy. In its filing, Circuit City, which listed assets of $3.4 billion against debt of $2.3 billion, says Chapter 11 will buy it time to reorganize and improve its liquidity.
