RedEnvelope seals a deal with a new chief financial officer

Specialty gift e-retailer RedEnvelope, Inc. has named Philip E. Neri chief financial officer. Neri replaces William T. Gochnauer who has served as interim chief financial officer since late 2006.

San Francisco specialty department store Gump’s has re-launched its e-commerce site with an emphasis on merchandise that had been available only in the store and with a new Gift Finder that allows shopping by various options.

Hanover Direct’s web sales grow while total sales slip

Internet sales at Hanover Direct increased 7.3% in the first half while total revenue decreased 7.5%. Hanover Direct earned $1 million in the half vs. a loss of $7.6 million a year ago.

Hanover Direct’s web sales rise 12% in quarter to 30% of revenue

First quarter web-based sales at Hanover Direct grew 12.1% from last year’s Q1 reaching $28.6 million from $25.5 million. Companywide sales fell 7%.

Hanover Direct gets 2 new top executives

Hanover Direct, which operates a group of multi-channel apparel and home furnishings retail brands, said chairman, president and CEO Thomas C. Shull has been replaced by William B. Wachtel as chairman and by Wayne P. Garten as president and CEO.

Hanover`s web sales boom as total sales languish; Penney`s web sales rise

Internet sales in the first nine months of the year at Hanover Direct grew 28.3% over the first nine months of last year while companywide revenue declined 7.4%. Q3 web sales were up 21.3% while companywide revenue was down 8.9%.

Hanover Direct posts strong Q1 web sales as overall revenue declines

Web sales grow 32.5% to $25.5 million or 26.5% of combined web and catalog sales. Overall revenue, meantime, decreased 6.4%.
